. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . lakh. A fine of Tk 100,000 was imposed on Ghosh Stores adjacent to Pabna’s Sujanagar Municipal Town (Cinema Hall) on Wednesday (May 11) morning for illegally stockpiling soybean oil.
Under the overall supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, the powers vested in the Director General of the National Consumer Rights Protection Authority under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner Pabna Office and in collaboration with the Upazila Executive Officer, Assistant Director of the Pabna District Office. Zahirul Islam led the supervision activities in Sujanagar upazila.
During the raid, 1,435 liters of open soybean oil and 1,602 liters of bottled soybean oil were found in illegal stock from the warehouse of Ghosh Store in Sujanagar Bazar.

The company was fined Tk 1 lakh under sections 40 and 45 of the Consumer Protection Act 2009 for creating an artificial crisis in the market by hiding these oils in different places and illegally stockpiling these oils for extra profit.
1,702 liters of bottled oil is sold to consumers at a fair price. Sujanagar Upazila Sanitary Inspector Mirza Imtiaz Uddin Ahmed and Sujanagar Police assisted in maintaining law and order in the operation.
