Police recovered a total of 700 bottles of phensidyl from an ambulance which crashed into a ditch on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Chandina upazila of Cumilla today (May 11, 2022).

Inspector Masud Alam, in-charge of Eliatganj Police Camp, confirmed the development to our Cumilla correspondent.

The police official said an ambulance crashed into a ditch on the highway in Korerpar area this afternoon after its driver lost control over the steering.

On information, a police team rushed to the spot and found the 700 bottles of Phensidyl inside the ambulance while recovering the vehicle, he said.

The ambulance driver fled the scene after the incident, said Masud Alam.

The police official said they handed over the seized phensidyl bottles and ambulance to Chandia Police Station.

The preparation to file a case in this connection is underway, added the police official.
