Pakistani cricketers have not been able to play in the IPL since 2009 due to political tensions between India and Pakistan.

Shoaib Akhtar, who played in the first edition of IPL in 2006, regrets the current Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

Shoaib Akhtar, the fastest pacer in the history of cricket, had the idea that if Babar Azam got a chance to play in the IPL, he would be dragged into the auction. And in that case its value could be 15 to 20 crore rupees.

Indian young opener Ishan Kisan has got the highest price in the auction of the ongoing 15th edition of IPL. Mumbai Indians have taken him in the team for 15 crore 25 lakh rupees.

However, the new IPL franchise Lucknow has taken Indian star opener Lokesh Rahul for a maximum of Rs 16 crore after getting a chance to retain some players before the auction.

Shoaib Akhtar, who recently took part in a function with former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh, said it would be great to see Virat Kohli and Babar Azam open the innings together one day in the IPL. What a thrilling scene that will be. The price of Babar in the auction can be 15 to 20 crore rupees. He will probably be the most expensive player in Pakistan.

In 2006, 11 Pakistani players were sold in the inaugural edition of the IPL. The Deccan Chronicle spent Shahid Afridi the most at Rs 2 crore 81 lakh in that event.
