This time, a mask scandal has taken place in the capital market listed life insurance company Delta Life Insurance. It has been alleged that several officials, including Sultan Ul-Abedin Mollah, the former administrator of the company, have embezzled large sums of money through the Mask scandal. The matter has been taken to court. The court ordered the issue of summons as the investigation found the allegations to be true.

It is learned that Delta Life bought 2 lakh 15 thousand masks from Lazim Media in May 2021. The price of this mask is 1 crore 8 lakh 50 thousand rupees for each 50 rupees. At the time the mask was purchased, Sultan Ul-Abedin Mollah, a former member of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA), was the administrator at Delta Life.

Zeyad Hossain, a director of Delta Life, filed a CR case in the Metropolitan Chief Magistrate’s Court alleging that the mask was bought on the orders of Sultan-ul-Abedin Mollah for personal gain. Delta Life’s DMD Manzoor Mawla, EVP Kamrul Haque and M Hafizur Rahman Khan along with Sultan ul-Abedin Mollah alleged that the director of Delta Life was involved in the activities.

According to the details of the case, the chairman of IDRA. M Mosharraf Hossain demanded the first bribe of Tk 2 crore from the board of directors of Delta Life Insurance. If the board of directors expresses inability, then it demands 1 crore rupees and lastly 50 thousand rupees. Due to non-payment of this money, on 11 February 2021, Sulnat ul-Abedin Mollah was appointed administrator.

It also said that after Sultan Ul-Abedin Mollah took over as administrator, on his instructions, on May 4 of that year, a Delta Life official, Md. Kamrul Haque and Md. Manzoor Mawla prepared the note. Policyholder and the company’s non-interest bearing notes were submitted and approved without tender on the same day in violation of the company’s procurement, procurement and payment procedures. The next day, on May 5, the work order was given after receiving quotations from Lazim Media.

Allegedly, said. Kamrul Haque and Md. With the approval of Mawla, approval was given to buy 2 lakh 15 thousand masks for 1 crore 8 lakh 50 thousand rupees. Each of which is priced at Rs 50, which is much higher than the market price at that time. An order of Rs 50 lakh was paid in advance to Lazim Media. The accused have violated the criminal trust by abusing their power by colluding with each other for nefarious purposes. This has benefited the policyholders and shareholders of the company.

The court directed the Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the matter and submit a report. Sultan ul-Abedin Mollah, said the PBI investigation. Kamrul Haque and Md. Manzoor filed a report in the court against Mawla under section 406/420/34 of the Penal Code proving the crime to be true.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate recently said during the report. Abubakar Siddique’s court has issued summons against the accused. He has also fixed May 23 for receiving the report of summons and for the presence of both the parties.

When contacted, Sultan ul-Abedin Mollah told Jago News that he had taken the mask and delivered it. Price issues; This is a relative meter. Masks have different prices. Which is more, which is less, who is examining it. As an administrator under the Insurance Act, I will not be sued in the lower court. Even then they did. Now see what the magistrate does. I will have a lawyer.

Asked about the leak of irregularities in the PBI investigation, he said, “As far as I understand, they (Zeyad Rahman) managed it.” The PBI has contacted us and the words we have said are not in the investigation report.

“After me there (Delta Life) two more administrators joined,” he added. I ordered, the next administrator paid. But he was dropped from the case. He was also charged, but was dropped by the PBI. So you can understand how PBI is working.

Meanwhile, Sultan Ul-Abedin Mollah, while being an IDRA member, was shown to have spent Tk 22,290 to buy a mobile charger in his name in 2016. This money is paid from IDRA through check (check number-2292934). In 2019, a report was published in Jago News under the headline ‘ A mobile charger costs 22,000 rupees ‘.

At that time, Sultan-ul-Abedin Mollah told Jago News that he had never received money from IDRA to buy a mobile charger. Besides, the price of a mobile charger cannot be 22,000 rupees at all. It is certainly unusual. How many things are coming out now, including pillows. If you show my name in the cost sector, there is nothing to do. I am not in IDRA now. I have nothing to do if someone does it invisibly while I’m still there. As far as I know, I did not make such purchases.
