GITAM Invites Student Entrepreneurs To Share Their Start-Up Ideas

GITAM’s annual pan-Indian pitch competition, StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon 2023, has been officially launched. All college students are welcome to take part in the event, where they can present their business ideas and compete for awards worth a combined Rs 30 lakh. This includes freshmen, graduates, and undergraduates. Teams of up to two people may participate, and the application deadline is June 10.

Entrepreneurs are welcome to present their business concepts related to one of the following four themes: “food & health,” “toys for STEM,” “sustainable fashion,” or “frugal innovation.”

The StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon aims to promote student innovation and the development of resilient, sustainable communities through social entrepreneurship. Young businesspeople are invited to propose their ideas at the event in the following four categories: food and health, toys for STEM, sustainable fashion, and frugal innovation. On August 24 and 25, the competition’s final round will take place on the GITAM campus in Hyderabad.

Winners will get several enticing prizes at the event, which is being organized by StartupIndia and the Venture Development Centre at GITAM. Both the winners and the runners-up will receive awards and cash worth a combined Rs 30 lakh.

The StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon 2023 is a fantastic platform for students and aspiring student entrepreneurs from all over the country to present their ideas to the world and win some exciting prizes as well as the chance to network with renowned experts, according to Professor Balkumar Marthi, the Dean of Innovation at GITAM (Deemed to be University). The most talented business coaches will provide individualized coaching and boot camps to the most promising businesses. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas during Boston Entrepreneurship Week in the United States.

The Chief Innovation Officer at GITAM (Deemed to be University), Krish Nangegadda, highlighted the potential for the participating students to gain international exposure by stating that “StartupIndia SmartIDEAthon 2023 is a great opportunity for students across India to not only showcase their venture ideas on an international stage but to compete to visit the vibrant start-up hub of Boston and experience the ecosystem firsthand.”
