The Zul’Aman raid opens its doors

Months of waiting have paid off, and WoW TBC Classic finally enters Phase 4. Here’s everything that gets added to the game and what you should be farming WoW TBC gold for. Interestingly, some of the content expected to come in Phase 5 was released early.

The Zul’Aman Raid

This 10-player raid pits players against 6 bosses in a grueling dungeon. They’ll have to prevent Zul’jin’s revenge from coming to fruition. Fittingly, he is the final boss of the dungeon. You’ll have to prepare well to successfully defeat this threat.

The other bosses in the dungeon are:

  • Nalorakk
  • Akil’zon
  • Jan’alai
  • Halazzi
  • Hex Lord Malacrass

The raid requires the player to be at level 70 before entering. It doesn’t need any attunements, so there are no extra steps to earn the right to enter. However, it has a 3-day reset lockout. Players that achieve a side objective of saving hostages before time runs out can obtain a rare Amani War Bear mount.

Other Updates

Phase 4 also updates old content. Here are the things that changed:

  • Bosses (Doomlord Kazzak and Doomwalker) now drop bind-on-equip loot.
  • Badges of Justice may be obtained from several bosses, including those from the previous bullet point and those in previous raids.
  • G’eras now offers more powerful WoW TBC items in exchange for these Badges of Justice.
  • Outland faction vendors have new wares.
  • The soulbind on Primal Nether and Nether Vortex is lifted.
  • The Black Sack of Gems and the Jewelcrafter’s Brilliant Glass will now contain epic gems (note that those obtained before this patch will not include those.)
  • The Battle for Mount Hyjal and The Black Temple will not need attunements to enter.
  • Reputation requirements for buying Heroic dungeon keys have been lowered to ‘Honored.’
  • Heroic Dungeons are now in their “final” state.

Aside from these, there are some quality-of-life updates and bug fixes. Text to speech (and the reverse) features have been added. An option to show “Free Bag Space” is now included in the Interface Options. The profession search bar returned, and Advanced Combat Logging now gives the exact NPC health values.

What to Look Forward to in Phase 5

In Phase 5, we can expect the new area of Quel’Danas to open. This heralds the end of content for The Burning Crusade, as it holds the final two dungeons of the expansion. Those are the Magister’s Terrace and the Sunwell Plateau.

The whole area is also significant lore-wise, as it is the site where the Sunwell is. It’s also where an off-shoot clan of blood elves built a town for themselves. Now, it’s being threatened (again) as Kael’thas Sunstrider attempts to summon his master, Kil’jaeden, for the Legion’s Burning Crusade.

The Magister’s Terrace is a 5-man raid, a far simpler raid than the Sunwell Plateau, needing 25 players. The arrival of Phase 5 marks the end of content for the expansion. There’s no word about having a “Wrath of the Lich King Classic” yet, so players would have to bear a slight pause in new content.

Conclusions

For a significant number of players, The Burning Crusade is the best expansion of the game. The arrival of Phase 4 pushes WoW Classic closer to the end of its cycle. It’s a bittersweet end because the nostalgia trip is ending, but at least they got to experience it again.

For those new to WoW, the chance to experience it as it was first released is an experience to cherish. Playing the quests in Retail WoW isn’t the same as playing the expansion the first time it got released.

While WoW TBC does come close to letting players relive the glory days, it is still a totally new experience. After all, Classic has some quality-of-life updates that weren’t there in the first release. Also, Blizzard has learned a few tricks in the meantime. They’ve announced that it is a remake of the expansion instead of a recreation of how it was.

Anyway, that’s all for Phase 4 of The Burning Crusade Classic. There’s a new raid to prepare for, new items to collect, and the never-ending farming for WoW TBC gold. Enjoying WoW TBC Classic shouldn’t be too hard with all the new content coming to the game.
