COVID-19 entered our life like a hurricane and turned everything upside down, literally. Let us take a look at the different ways it impacted all our lives.

Inhibited travel

The COVID-19 pandemic limited travel to an insane amount. Public transport was shut down, lockdowns were announced and in some places, there were strict curfews. People were not allowed to step out of their houses unless they had a valid reason. Thus, travel was inhibited to a great extent. People found it hard to adjust to since being at home 24/7 for more than a year has been truly testing for the majority of us.

Constant paranoia

The most significant impact that the pandemic has had is that it has instilled a constant fear in us. Now we are paranoid over little things that would have gone unnoticed two years ago. Should we touch this? Is this safe? Have I washed my hands well? Do I need to sanitize more? It’s almost like our eyes have become x-rays for germs; everywhere we look we see dirt, germ, and bacteria, which was definitely there even before but is now noticed more prominently than it should be. We are constantly afraid of contracting the virus, catching an infection. In fact, the world has reached such a scary phase that even a simple sneeze or cough is treated with so much suspicion and fear now.

Disrupted work-life balance

The pandemic changed the mode of work. Offices were shut and everyone was forced to work from home. This disrupted the balance between people’s work and personal life. Now, with the office being at home, people are finding it hard to compartmentalize. There is more stress, chaos, and irritability. The home environment isn’t conducive for a lot of people to focus and work. Also, family members now feel as if their privacy is interrupted the whole time. So all in all, it is chaotic for everyone. Even life in the bedroom started getting dull and people resorted to Anime sex dolls for pleasure.

Compromised education through online classes

Another bane of this ‘virtual world’ is the impact it has had on education. The school was shut as well, and online classes were started. Children have suffered the most educationally in this phase. They missed out on important experiences that are necessary to grow, online education has made them lose all seriousness about studies, school, or college. Education or schooling has become more of a pastime, where they can switch on a virtual meeting and continue to while the time away from talking on the phone or chatting because who’s going to find out through a screen anyway? Also, increased screen time negatively affects their eyesight and we have seen more children with spectacles after the pandemic has started.

Financial losses

With companies shut down, markets crashing, people have faced tremendous financial losses. Businesses were closed, there was bankruptcy and unemployment resulting in an increase in the crime rate as well.

Fear of the future

The COVID-19 pandemic has made everyone fear the future. The things that we never paid attention to such as reduced immunity, environmental concerns, hazardous bio-waste, their harmful effects, depleting the ozone layer, etc., suddenly became the focus as people now started noticing the elephant in the room.

Something positive

The pandemic has been a shock for everyone, but they say every cloud has a silver lining. So let’s look at the silver lining in this situation. Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic hit, people have started taking their health seriously. Even the so-called ‘anti-vaxxers’: people who were against any type of vaccine, finally started to realize the benefits of vaccination and opted for it, reducing the effect of further waves of the virus.

Final Thoughts

This pandemic has taught us all a very important lesson: Life can be very predictable, so make the most of it. Enjoy all the little moments, say what you want to, express your love, resolve a fight, call that friend you haven’t spoken to. Do everything you want. Because it’s better to follow your heart than hold back and regret later.
