1. It Has Always Been Translated.
This is the most important tip for reading IELTS:
It is always translated and the text can tell you 100% if your answer is correct.

Skimming is a quick read on for general information about this material. Here is an overview:
Read the first paragraph carefully to understand what the text is about.
Pay attention to the first sentences of each paragraph, this will give you the main idea of the text.
Always read the last paragraph carefully, as this usually includes a conclusion.
3. Scanning
Scanning is a quick read to find clear facts.
IELTS reading test questions often include dates, names, numbers, and new terms that are part of your answers.
When scanning, make sure:
Always underline important clear data and numbers. You don’t have to read every word. Pay attention to information such as names, dates, numbers, statistics, and more
Identify the keyword from the question and then scan the text and possible synonyms. So, this will help you search the answer faster.
Also, it is important to be fast, focused and attentive. You can’t allow yourself to be slow and calm.
You should spend no more than 3 minutes to pass the test.
4. Focus on The Thoughts, Not the Words.
Read it again and then repeat in your own words.
Explain to yourself what you just read.

Find the exact location of the repeated answer in the section you read. Compare it to the keywords in your answer and make sure it is ONE. This is the proof.
Then underline that repeated line in the piece.
Then write the number on the question answered in the row. So simple.
You should do this to relax and avoid guessing during the reading test. This will make sure you make the right choice.
Also, there is always only 1 accurate and right answer. No matter what many think, there are no options. The tests are structured like this. That is why the text has a very clear location of the correct answer.
8. Don’t Panic Over Unfamiliar Words. Use Context.
Try to consider a new word. Perhaps the content of the sentence can help determine whether it is positive or negative, human or business, animal or feature.
Prefixes can help, don’t mean canceling an action and mean repeating, or -wise pointing to something.
Grammar also helps, if it comes before the horse, it can describe what the horse is like.
Remember to do background work to expand your vocabulary and understanding of prefixes and suffixes for a reading test.
If that doesn’t help, don’t panic. Go to the next question and then go back to the confusing part.
