Cyclone Ashani is getting stronger in the south-east Bay of Bengal. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the cyclone will cross East-Central Bay of Bengal and move towards West Central Bay in the next 12 hours. It will turn into a strong cyclone in the West Central Bay.

As a result, light to moderate to heavy rains are expected in Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal from Tuesday. At the moment, Ashani is located 960 km south-east of Visakhapatnam. On the other hand, the cyclone is 1020 km south-east of Puri in Orissa.
