A woman has been accused of stabbing her husband to death in a family quarrel in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur. The incident took place in Charshyamile area of Shibchar union of the upazila around 8pm on Monday. The deceased was identified as Ayesha Begum, 30. He died on the way to the hospital after being rescued in critical condition. The body has been sent to the morgue of Madaripur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

Her husband Abdul Razzak Talukder is the driver of a battery-powered easybike. They got married about 10 years ago. They lived in Charshyamile village of Shivchar with their two children. They often had quarrels over various family matters. After Iftar on Monday, Ayesha had an argument with Razzak over a call on her mobile phone. At one point, Razzak stabbed his wife in the stomach and nose with a sharp knife. Razzak quickly fled when the people around him ran away shouting Ayesha. Ayesha’s father-in-law and neighbors rescued her and took her to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared Ayesha dead.
Shibchar Upazila Health Complex doctor Tariqul Islam told Prothom Alo that the patient died before being brought to the hospital. Ayesha is thought to have died of a sharp knife wound and excessive bleeding. He has two sharp weapon wounds to his face and back.
Ayesha’s father-in-law Abdul Khaleq Talukder said, ‘My son killed his wife. I can’t say why the boy did that. ‘
Shibchar police officer in charge. Miraj Hossain said in the first light, it is believed that the murder was due to a family quarrel. Police have visited the spot. The matter is being investigated. The body has been sent to the morgue of Madaripur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
