A top Kremlin official was quoted in the televised channel SVR as saying that Putin had been handing over power to the former head of Russia’s KGB for several days.

Russia and Ukraine have been at war for more than two months. The situation is still not under control. Analysts say Putin’s departure from the presidency is significant enough.

The date of Putin’s surgery has not yet been determined and is being discussed.

The report says there is no need for immediate surgery but it is not too late. The arms race was scheduled for the second week of April, but was postponed due to the war in Ukraine.

Earlier, in November 2020, several British tabloids, including The Sun, reported that Putin was suffering from Parkinson’s disease and was likely to step down due to illness.
