The job industry is always changing. What was a very in-demand job five years ago might now be in decline in the modern day. It’s often hard to predict how jobs will change in the future in terms of their demand, especially when there has been a massive impact in the world.

The Covid-19 pandemic really shook up the job industry. As a matter of fact, there has been a huge amount of change over the past ten years as it is. This is due to the constant development of technology and digital demand. So as if things weren’t already changing enough, the pandemic really turned everything upside down. It’s safe to say that it had some impact on the demand for certain roles in various industries. However, there are several things that influence job demand. For example, areas can be impacted by local changes, which creates more job opportunities. This can be seen as there are plans to build major logistics park on old AstraZeneca site will result in huge job creation in that industry

But what about worldwide job demand? Here are some of the jobs on the rise all across the globe in 2021.

Digital Marketing

Digital marketing is an industry that has been growing for many years now, even prior to the pandemic. It is estimated this year alone, the industry saw an increase of 33% in terms of employment. This is due to businesses realizing the importance of digital marketing. In the modern-day, you can no longer rely on modern marketing techniques to amplify your business. Business owners seem to learn this the hard way. This is what has caused such a demand for digital marketers.

As it is a relatively new thing, there aren’t enough digital marketing experts to supply the demand. This is what makes them such a sought-after group. Digital marketing covers a large variety of talents, with social media management, data analysts, and copywriting all being examples of digital marketing roles

Teaching and Education

This is definitely an industry that was affected by the pandemic. The Covid-19 restrictions hugely disrupted the education system. There was massive pressure on teachers to quickly adjust and come to terms with the new teaching methods. Teachers and lecturers were expected to be able to educate their students at the same standard online as they did in the classroom. Of course, this is an extremely difficult thing to do. The difficulties lead to a demand for more teachers to try and relieve some stress, giving the role a growth rate of about 20%. The teaching sector is almost always on the rise, but was undoubtedly influenced by the pandemic this year. The different roles in demand for the industry are the likes of teaching jobs, curriculum developers, and tutors.

Mental Health

Another one that will have been massively affected by the pandemic is the mental health sector. With so many weeks spent stuck indoors with nowhere to go, it’s not surprising that people’s mental health was negatively impacted. Even prior to the pandemic, a huge amount of the public suffered from the likes of anxiety and depression. People suffering from these mental illnesses are encouraged to seek professional help. However, with the spike in mental health issues, there has also been a spike in demand for professionals. This has caused a growth of around 24% for mental health experts. Again, this is a role that has been slowly growing in demand over recent years but was massively spiked by the pandemic.

Engineering

Engineering jobs have been growing in terms of demand for a very long time now. With so many different roles in the industry, it’s easy to understand that some grow at a faster rate than others. In terms of the pandemic, the engineering role most influenced by that was, without a doubt, biomedical engineering. However, other roles within engineering that have spiked in demand in the past year are the likes of web developers and front-end developers.

Healthcare

The industry most affected by Covid-19 was, without a doubt, healthcare. It was put under massive strain throughout the peak of the virus, and they are still not out of the woods yet. There is still a huge call for healthcare experts, although there is less panic about the situation as the pandemic is beginning to settle. However, there are still massive rates of growth for nurses, dental experts, and healthcare roles, meaning that there are opportunities for those wanting to get into a medical profession.
