Introduction:

Once renowned as the king of mobile phones with its unique qwerty keyboard deck, Motorola Edge Plus was in a losing race in keeping with the fast-paced mobile industry. While competitors like Samsung, LG, and Google were already ahead with their smartphone launches, Motorola was a little behind in making one.

Fast forward to 2023, and Motorola is one of the brands to look out for when buying a budget-friendly or flagship smartphone with all the latest features built in. In its latest endeavors, Motorola has launched a flagship smartphone – Motorola Edge Plus (2023), with all the latest features and is in the market with competition from Google and Samsung.

By far, this is the best smartphone Motorola has ever produced or launched. The phone has an industry-leading processor – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, an IP68 rating, and the most-loved telephoto camera lens. People love the telephoto lens as it brings astro photography closer to the palm of your hand. While talking about features, it is difficult not to mention the big and beautiful curved display, a strong build quality, and a huge storage capacity.

With such strong features and qualities, the Motorola Edge Plus (2023) fits in the bracket of flagships, including the latest Google phone and the Samsung Galaxy S23 devices. The Edge Plus (2023) boasts a big anti-glare matte glass finish with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on it. It is a big 6.67-inch screen, and it makes Samsung S23 look very small.

Though the S23 looks small, many people prefer smaller screens over big and chunky screens. It is something to do with the compactness and comfort of holding a phone. Nonetheless, the Motorola Edge Plus (2023) is set to impress with its big and curved display panel with a refresh rate of 165 Hz, which is massive. It is 45 Hz more than the traditional 120 Hz. Wow!

It is slightly weird to see Motorola bringing back the curved screen feature after almost every smartphone once had that feature, which they have now retired. We will see how this phone works with that retired curved screen feature. It seems Moto likes to bring back memories. The OLED panel is placed to deal with beautiful color viewing making sure users don’t miss any pixels.

The high refresh rate makes up for great scrolling and on-screen animations. A drawback that is bugging a lot is the phone’s 1080p display panel. Though it gives a great viewing experience, Moto’s competitor Google Pixel 7 Pro (Google’s flagship smartphone) provides a sharp 1440p display that takes things up a notch.

Features Of Motorola Edge Plus:

The next best thing about this smartphone is the chipset inside it. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm is present at the heart of the Motorola Edge Plus (2023), keeping it alive and kicking. It is not very rare these days, and one can find this particular chipset in most high-end smartphones. Though, in the Edge Plus (2023), the chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM.

As great as the specs are, Motorola still features the same 5100 mAh battery that will actively take you through a day of usage. The 68W charger does a pretty good job of providing fuel to the phone. Moto claims with a low battery, the charger will provide enough juice to keep it going for a day of comfortable usage.

Fast charging is a feature that comes along with this phone, and we can see the phone go from 0 to 100 percent battery capacity in almost 30 minutes. That’s pretty quick!

Moving on to the most bizarre segment of the phone, its storage. It is outrageous and, on the same hand, bizarre to see a massive 512GB of storage being provided in the smartphone. That is what most Laptops get or only have. With such massive storage capacity, one won’t find the need to own a MicroSD card. Also, there is no MicroSD slot inside.

Talking about outrageous, let’s not forget to praise the camera on this phone. A beautiful 50MP triple camera setup on the back and a stunning 60MP selfie camera on the front have got you covered on all occasions if you ever feel like capturing a moment. The phone takes stunning photos with its cameras. The main 50MP camera is good, but the 50MP ultrawide camera is even better.

Motorola is also announcing a couple of budget-friendly devices: a new 4G-only Moto G Stylus and Moto G 5G. The 2023 G Stylus comes with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, a 6.5-inch LCD with 90Hz refresh rate, and a low $199 price (along with, you know, a stylus). The 2023 G 5G offers a Snapdragon 480 chipset, a 6.5-inch LCD with 120Hz refresh rate, and a slightly higher $249 price tag.

Edge Plus’ exposure choices and color processing are incredible, and the detail on it is a pleasure to the eye. While the main and the ultrawide camera leave you speechless, the third telephoto camera lens will have the same effect. The 12MP telephoto lens can take stunning portrait photos. The lens is fast enough to get sharp portrait photos, even in dim light or with a moving subject.

With such massive camera lenses, users can record up to 8K / 30p video. Capturing everything in its natural form is the goal of such massive camera lenses. On the other hand, the new Edge Plus comes with Android 13 inside the box, with a promise of receiving 4 years of guaranteed updates from Google.
