Rummy: Stay Away from the Discard Pile Unless Necessary 

The greatest strength of a Rummy player is to know how to use the discard pile. Some keep collecting cards from the pile in the hope that this one will help them complete a run. But there are certain disadvantages to that. Firstly, you do not get the chance to see the top card, which could have helped you complete the run. And secondly, your opponent gets the chance of seeing the card you take from the pile. For example, if you pick a four of spades and he happens to have a four of hearts, he would try to hold on to that card until the end of the game and can stop you successfully from making a run even if you get three other cards. Thus, only when you see you are stuck with disparate cards and can no way make a run without having a card from the pile pick one. 

Blackjack: Ditch the Insurance Bet

In most cases, the insurance bet does not work in the favour of players. It is best to refuse the insurance bet if the dealer’s up card is an Ace. Even if you have a good hand, like an 18 or 20, do not go for the insurance bet. It does not pay off well in the long run as the odds of the dealer having a blackjack will be more than it. It looks like a good deal but when analysed minutely, you will find the loophole in it. Most people fall for it but now you know how this bet works, we hope you will be careful. 

Opting for an insurance bet in blackjack is never a good option. 

Pool: Disrupt Your Opponent’s Chances 

If you do not have a good shot at your own ball, do not waste it by trying to make a hit. Take that opportunity to disrupt your opponent’s game when his chance comes. Hit one of his balls away from the pot and try to land it in a position that will make it difficult for him to pocket.
