The South Korean military says North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile into the East Coast on Saturday. The missile, which was launched from the area around Sinpoor at around 11 a.m. Bangladesh time, is believed to be a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).

Authorities in the North Korean coastal town of Sinpo, on the shores of the Sea of Japan, are stockpiling military equipment for submarines as well as SLBM tests, Reuters reports.

On the other hand, Japan has also identified the issue of North Korea’s missile test. Japan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on Twitter on Saturday that the launch device could be a ballistic missile.
