Twenty-two yards of cricket spread the flames of political enmity between India and Pakistan. Fighting two eternal rivals on the field means a different kind of war. The whole cricket world should be divided into two parts in the match between the two neighboring countries. However, without the World Cup match, there is no chance of watching the two neighbors fight. The last time the Pakistan team visited India was in 2012. Since then, the two sides have not faced each other in a bilateral fight.

About ten years ago, the  Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent the players and their wives to India to avoid any controversy or negative incidents during the tour. In a recent interview with Cricket Pakistan, the then PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf spoke about the tour. “During my tenure, when the national team toured India, I said the wives would go with the players,” he said. This decision was made so as not to create any controversy. Because the Indian media will always be behind.

Confirming that it was decided to send wives with them to monitor the cricketers, Zaka Ashraf said that having wives with them means that the players are under surveillance all the time.

Meanwhile, Zaka Ashraf said that during the Pakistan tour of India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had also promised to send their team to Pakistan. Although it did not happen later.

“They invited us for a short series and we went there,” Ashraf said. When I met the then BCCI chairman Narayanaswamy Srinivasan, he promised me a visit to Pakistan on full security terms.
