PCB ‘raises salaries’ of Babar-Afridi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to increase the salaries of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shahin Shah Afridi in its upcoming central contract.

A proposal to include seniors as well as young emerging players in the central contract list is also under consideration.

According to CricketPakistan.com, preliminary talks on a new central contract for Babar Azam have begun. The current contract expires on June 30.

According to sources, Cricket Pakistan is likely to increase the players’ monthly wages and match fees by 10 to 15 per cent.

Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and leg-spinner Yasir Shah are in the C and B categories of the PCB’s current central contract. Despite being in the current contract, they were not in the XI. That is why they are likely to be left out of the new agreement.
