When and how did you start?
We started the backend work in 2017 and launched the website in April 2018, says Mr. Goutham Gaddam Managing Director JoeyRooms.
How did you come up with the idea? Your inspiration moment
I am the frequent traveler and the first moment came when I went to Kanchi and there just for few hours we need to pay 1000+ and as I stay in PG/HOSTEL found the opportunity so I thought why don’t we use these empty spaces to provide Budget accommodation.

As a traveler, I know how much money we need to spend on accommodation and as we are Indians Budget always play a key role in our travel planning.
” With Joeyrooms we can book rooms just for 200 including food in the city is going to change the hospitality, it will be the option for all who are looking for savings like students, Marketing professionals and others who travel frequently. For girls, it’s always challenging for parents to stay alone at the hotel, so now with this option, they can book daily accommodation in PG for girls and stay with the gang of girls”, says Mr. Goutham Gaddam.
In Hostels, we will have different sharing models and single sharing offers complete one room where it gives the privacy as well. Joeyrooms also offers booking platform for Hotels, service apartments, Homestays as well in case if they look for other options along with Hostels. We don’t have the plan for Monthly accommodation initially but later as we explore the market we realized that still, we don’t have any platform to book the Hostels online, still we are following the system like check online and call the owner and ask all the questions and struggle with language and lot more so we thought let us keep booking option for advance monthly accommodation so they can check all the facilities and book online and stay.. No more struggling with calls, language and roaming on roads.
Challenges and Opportunities/ Marketing Strategies
The market is very big as we provide both daily & Monthly accommodation. In India Monthly accommodation is a very big market and as we take the advantage of the first player and towards keeping the standards.
- We are India’s online booking platform to provide one-day accommodation including food starting from 200*.
- We are working on corporate collaboration i.e corporate and Group Bookings.
- We are in talks with other sector aggregators for collaboration.
- We have big plans for monthly bookings and expecting 100crore volume in next 12 months.
Future plans and funding
Planning to have the presence in major cities by end of 2018. We are in talks with other sector aggregators for collaboration.
