Russian President Vladimir . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Putin spoke by phone with French President Emmanuel Macho and German Chancellor Olaf Schulz on Saturday. At the time, the two European leaders called on Putin to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine. Putin, on the other hand, called for the lifting of Western sanctions on Russia.

In a phone call on Saturday, Makhon and Sholes called on the Russian president to call for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

They also called for the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

Putin, meanwhile, drew attention to the global food crisis, saying “Russia is ready to help us find a way to export grain without hindrance.” This includes the export of Ukrainian grain from the ports of the Black Sea. ‘

Elaborating on Putin’s statement, the Kremlin added that increasing supplies of Russian fertilizers and agricultural products would also help reduce instability in the global food market. For this, the relevant ban must be lifted.

Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine and its consequent Western sanctions on Russia have combined to create a huge global food shortage. As a result, the world is facing an extreme food crisis. Russia and Ukraine account for 30 percent of global wheat supplies.
