Russian troops have demanded the capture of a Ukrainian Azov base near the town of Mariupol. The Kremlin has claimed that it received a classified manual of US weapons sent to Ukraine from there. This information was given in a report of Russian media Sputnik News on Friday.

According to Sputnik, the material recovered from Azov bases is seen as important among the military equipment acquired in the Ukraine war. Because, despite Moscow’s objections, it has information about the weapons and warfare that Western countries have been sending to Ukraine for a long time. The document contains instructions for conducting operations and recovery operations against Russian troops. The documents were to be destroyed before they fell into the hands of Russian forces. But the Azov warriors failed to do so.

Before the start of the invasion of Ukraine, only one-third of the territory was occupied by the Russians. Among the rest was the besieged port city of Mariupol. Fighters from the Azov Battalion, a paramilitary force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, were stationed in the Mariupol area.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has demanded the capture of the Russian border port of Mariupol in eastern Ukraine, according to Reuters. But Kiev says Ukrainian troops are desperately fighting to defend their last base there.

According to the Russian government, conquest of the region means the realization of Russia’s goal of liberating Ukraine from the Nazis. Moscow wants to establish a land connection from Danbas to the west via Mariupol.

According to Sputnik, the recovered manual was written in Ukrainian, Russian and English. A journalist has captured the video of the manual. At the base where the document was found, there was a subversive group called SS Medvedi. One of the manuals mentions the U.S. military intelligence center at Fort Huachuca. Another was published by the U.S. Army Department.

With the exception of the Azovstal steel plant, most of Mariupol has recently come under the joint control of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Russian military. According to the Kremlin, this is part of the success of the special military operation in Ukraine, which began on February 24.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia has been forced to launch an operation to prevent genocide.
