Where do you go if you want to arrange a quick, actual demo of Next Cloud? Well, if you’ve seen any of these before, I assume you already know what I’m going to say. Lenode offers a one-click marketplace, and Nextcloud is one of their one-click offerings, so that’s why we’re heading there.
Let’s go through it now. It is incredibly easy. Amazingly, it’s simple. Even though you don’t really need a demo for this, we’ll still walk you through the process because using Lenode makes it so simple and just costs a few dollars per month. After utilizing NexCloud, I have to remark that Lenode has a fantastic user experience if you wish to host your future cloud there.
Everything is quick and works incredibly well. I’m old and not used to this newfangled stuff, but it’s sleek; it’s a touch too in line and sexual for my taste, but it is, it works wonderful, and it looks fantastic. Let’s examine it, then. Just a short note regarding this video: During the narration, you’ll notice that I only use the word “office” a few times. We originally planned to use solely Office with this, and I did install it. However, Calabra is the default that comes with Next Cloud, and it performs fantastically and does everything we need it to.
As a result, when I said I was simply talking about Office, you’re actually looking at Collabora, which is a component of the suite of applications you may install by checking a box when you install Next Cloud and configure Next Cloud on the node. Instead of setting up a distribution like we typically would, we’re going to go to the marketplace where we have all these install apps already set up for us in order to construct a Linode using their one-click marketplace. There is an other way to do things, but what’s going on here? By doing this, you’ll obtain a special environment for this kind of thing and have it installed for you. Give it a few minutes if you try to reach it but are unable to do so because it could need to start some services or whatever else we will have the IP address for. If you went through the DNS configuration, you’ll have a little bit more setup there, but because this isn’t a long-term solution, we’ll just use the IP address to access our next cloud. Depending on whether we’ve finished testing it before this video goes live, we might obscure this IP address. We’ll show it to you as long as we remove it before the movie is uploaded, but it’s over here under the IP addresses or in the IP addresses. We can also use the share link, which can be configured to drop with read-only access, full access, or a different form of share.
There are various methods you can manage your shares because you can secure anything with a password. Let’s now look at projects, which is one of the ways that Next Cloud wants you to handle your papers and files. Therefore, sharing and creating these sharing links are the foundation of projects like the fundamental authorization system. However, the project enables you to link everything together and see them as a single unit. Therefore, if someone is involved in the project, they can see the project, however they might not be able to see everything.

If you’ve used an office application, you’re familiar with this, which has all the tools and stuff like that; it seems to desire more processing power to operate all this stuff, but it functions pretty much the same. We will therefore close the document after we are satisfied with it, and we now wish to link the two together. Now that we’ve looked at the sharing tab on the details page, let’s look at the project management section. At the moment, we don’t have a project, so it suggests to type to search for existing projects, but we don’t. We want to link these two files together to create a project, so we’ll return to our video folder and choose the video document we created. You are aware that your goal is to use this as cloud storage.

Probably a good thing, the office.
Other features do exist; let’s take a thorough, short look at them. We have already seen the dashboard and the files; photographs are simply a collection of all the photos you have uploaded, regardless of where they are, and videos are also included; this is the introduction video. You can tell what has been happening in the next cloud by looking at the splash screen and “activity,” of course. This next cloud instance is now empty, so that’s helpful talk. As I previously mentioned, we’re going to demonstrate this for a potential future project for the channel as part of a storage solution, but for the time being, I believe we should look at the client since there is a desktop client that you can use with your next cloud instance. You are not required to connect using a web browser. You can download the desktop and mobile clients for your new Next Cloud by visiting nextcloud.com clients. We’ll click the “download now” option and I’ll look at Windows. It has a 102 MB size. We’ll have a look at it after I install that. Thus, the Nexcloud Windows app is here.

The Explorer integration is primarily to blame because if you open the program and click this folder, your local folder will appear. This is essentially a synchronization of what is already on Next Cloud, and any changes I make here will be reflected on Next Cloud.
