In the year 1857, Tatya Tope was appointed as the Commander-in-chief of the East India Company stationed at Kanpur. He emerged triumphant in military encounters with impressive warrior skills. Later on, he moved to his headquarters in Kalpi and occupied Gwalior with the support of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Queen of Jhansi. However, before he could secure his place, he was defeated by General Rose, which resulted in Rani Lakshmi Bai’s martyrdom.
