Chennai Super Kings came back victorious with a big win. Without Mostafiz, they lost to Delhi Capital by 91 runs. At this rate, however, Delhi fell into a lot of difficulties, their way to the play-offs has become difficult. If they won the match, maybe they had a chance in the last four. But that did not happen. After winning today, Chennai has risen to the top of the points list by pushing Kolkata.

Batting first, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway batted brilliantly and Chennai scored 206 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Conway made 7 off 49 balls in the opening pair of 110 runs. 7 boundaries and 5 sixes came from his bat. Ruturaj made 41 off 33 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six. Chennai’s opening pair did not score in this year’s IPL. Ruturaj failed to pull. Robin Uthappa also did not get a run. Today Conway was sent to accompany Ruturaj. Conway played a great innings today. Conway had recently returned to the country to get married. Soon after his return, he was terrified. He could have got hundreds. But his great innings ended with a wrong shot. The rest of the batsmen played without any pressure as big runs were scored in the opening match. Shivam Dubey’s 32 off 19 balls and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s 21 off 7 balls brought Chennai a big lead. Dhoni’s innings has caught a different eye. He made his innings with 1 boundary and 2 sixes.

Delhi was not fighting today. Prithvi was hospitalized with fever. He was replaced by Srikar Bharat as the opening batsman. But could do nothing. David Warner also failed today. He was dismissed for 19 off 12 balls. Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant tried a bit. In the third wicket partnership, the two made 36 off 19 balls. But then nothing. Pant made 21 off 11 balls and Marsh made 25 off 20 balls. After that Shardul Tagore has no collection to say except 24 runs from 19 balls. In the end, Delhi’s innings stopped at 116 runs in 18.4 overs.

Moin Ali was the best bowler in Chennai. He bowled 4 overs and took 3 wickets with only 13 runs. He made it easier for Chennai to win by returning Pant and Marsh. His other victim is Ripple Patel. Dwayne Bravo, Mukesh Chowdhury and Simarjit Singh took two wickets each. Mahesh Thiksana got a wicket.
