The most popular comic book character, Batman was met with universal acclaim when it hit theatres, earlier this year. Renowned filmmaker Matt Reeves, credited with films such as War of the Planet of the Apes and Clover field, has written and directed The Batman.
Ben Affleck was initially attached to the project to reprise his role as the dark knight from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with added responsibilities to write and direct the film. However, Affleck stepped away from the project in 2017, and Matt Reeves was roped in to reboot the Batman mythos for the silver screen yet again.

Robert Pattinson essays the role of a much younger version of Batman, after amassing accolades for films such as The Lighthouse, Tenet, Good Time, The Devil All the Time, and Water for Elephants.While Zoë Kravitz (Kyle/Catwoman), Jeffrey Wright (James Gordon), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), Colin Farrell (Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), and Paul Dano (Edward Nashton/The Riddler) complete the star-studded ensemble.
The plot revolves around a relatively inexperienced Batman as he investigates a series of murders in Gotham City committed by a serial killer called the Riddler. With the help of Lieutenant Gordon and the mysterious Selina Kyle, Batman must apprehend the Riddler before he kills anyone else. Batman’s investigation leads down a path of self-discovery, whilst also uncovering dark secrets about Gotham City.
Awards for The Batman Film
The film is loosely based on the graphic novels, Mike W. Barr’s Batman: Year Two and Jeph Loeb’s Batman: The Long Halloween. Academy Award-winning cinematographer Greig Fraser and music director Michael Giacchino have brought to life the film’sstunning visuals and captivating sound design.
When and where to watch The Batman on OTT in India
The latest DC movie will be available in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil for streaming in 4K. Pre-bookings are open for The Batman on BookMyShow Stream, and you can buy it for Rs. 799. You will also be able to rent it for Rs. 499.
Other streaming platforms like Apple TV, YouTube Movies, and Google Play Movies are also expected to offer The Batman at around the same price. The latest take on the Caped Crusader currently sits at the top of the list of the highest-grossing films of 2022.
Released in India on March 4, The Batman arrives on video-on-demand platforms six weeks after its theatrical release. Notably, The Batman is also coming to HBO Max in the United States on the same date. There is no official word on when it will be available on streaming services in India, However, when it does arrive, it will make its way to Amazon Prime Video thanks to existing deals. Dune — among Warner Bros.’ last major releases — came to Prime Video on March 25, which was around 22 weeks since its theatrical release in October 2021.
The Batman is out April 18 on Apple TV, BookMyShow Stream, Google Play Movies, and YouTube Movies in India.
