Deleted from a home in Lalbagh Shaheed Nagar area of the capital. Police have recovered the hanging body of a young Saudi woman named Shifa Akter (28).
Lalabagh police recovered the body from the house around 6am on Wednesday (April 28) and sent it to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Kamrul Alam said, “After receiving the news, I found the body hanging from the ground floor of a house in Shaheed Nagar 4th lane area of Lalbagh by wrapping a scarf around the ceiling fan.” After the legal process, the body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
He added that Shifa Akter came to his brother’s house in Dhaka from Saudi Arabia two weeks ago. On Tuesday night (April 26), he talked to a man named Hasan on his mobile phone. As soon as I spoke, I found out that he had committed suicide by hanging himself. We have the mobile phone. Details can be found by checking the call record of the mobile phone. We are still trying to find out the details. He also said that the exact cause of death would be known after receiving the autopsy report.
“My sister has been in Saudi Arabia for some time,” said Shamim, the victim’s brother. I brought him to my house from the airport two weeks ago. I found out that she had a relationship with a boy named Hasan. They talked on the phone last night. I work in a factory. I left home at 11:30 pm.
“I had my wife and two children at home,” he said. I returned home during Sehri. I came and found the door of my sister’s house closed. The door does not open even after many calls. Later the door broke and I found him hanging with the fan. When the police were informed, they recovered the body.
He further said that our village home is in Dudh Patil (Mollabari) village of Chunarughat police station of Habiganj. My father is late Abdur Rauf. I rented a house at 8/3 / A, Narayan Dhar Road, 4th Street, Shaheed Nagar, Lalbagh with my family.
