Obesity is when your body weight is more than normal. Obesity is a disease that can wreak havoc on your body. Obese people are more likely to have other diseases. These include type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, sleep apnea, and many more. Combined with obesity, these diseases can lead to poor health. In some cases, they can lead to health problems, poor quality of life, disability, or premature death.

  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Respiratory disease
  • Cancer
  • Cerebrovascular disease and stroke
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
  • Bone/joint damage and accidents
  • Diabetes

Obesity is one of the main causes of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes occurs when blood sugar levels are too high for the body to control. People affected by obesity are 10 times more likely to have high blood sugar. Type 2 diabetes can double the risk of death. Type 2 diabetes can cause:

  • Amputations
  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Blindness
  • Kidney disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Nerve damage and deafness
  • Hard to heal infections
  • Impotence and more

High blood pressure

Obesity is one of the main causes of Hypertension. About three out of four patients with high blood pressure are obese. High blood pressure increases the risk of heart disease, kidney diseases, congestive heart failure (CHF) and stroke.

Heart Disease

Heart disease kills millions of people in India each year. Clinical scientists consider obesity to be a leading cause of heart disease. Extensive studies show that the risk of heart disease increases with obesity. Obese people have a higher risk of having a heart attack. Obesity increases the risk of heart failure. Severe obesity is associated with irregular heartbeats.

Respiratory diseases

Obese people have a reduced breathing capacity. You can’t breathe in and out as much air. These people are at increased risk of respiratory (lung) infections, asthma, and other breathing disorders. Asthma is three to four times more common in obese people. More than half of people who are obese have obstructive sleep apnea.

If you are very overweight, this value is around 90 percent. OSA is a very serious respiratory disorder. When excess fat in the neck, throat, and tongue blocks the airway during sleep. This blockage causes apnea, which means a person stops breathing for a while. A person with OSA can suffer from hundreds of apnea episodes each night. Apnea reduce the amount of oxygen in the blood.

OSA can cause pulmonary hypertension, high blood pressure, and heart attack. Because apnea episodes disrupt the normal sleep cycle, you may not get restful sleep. This can cause tiredness (tiredness) and sleepiness. Left untreated, this drowsiness can increase your risk of car accidents.

Cancer

Cancer takes millions of lives each year. Obesity is believed to cause up to 90,000 cancer deaths each year. As body mass index (BMI) increases, so does the risk of cancer and cancer death. These types of cancer include:

  • Endometrial cancer
  • Cervical cancer
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Postmenopausal breast cancer
  • Colon cancer
  • Esophageal cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Gallbladder cancer
  • Liver cancer
  • Kidney cancer
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Prostate cancer
  • Multiple Myeloma Leukemia

Mortality from all types of cancer is increased in people with severe obesity. The mortality rate is 52 percent higher in men and 62 percent higher in women.

Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke top

Obesity puts a stress on your whole nervous system, which carries blood through your body. This exposure increases the risk of stroke and vascular damage in the brain. Obesity can lead to other risk factors that affect the heart. Risk factors for stroke include heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and obstructive sleep apnea.

Erectile Dysfunction

As we learn more about the causes of erectile dysfunction, science has seen a fairly clear link between obesity and erectile dysfunction. It can be treated with medications like Vidalista 40, Cenforce 100 and more.

For example, erectile dysfunction is more common in people with cardiovascular disease, a class of diseases significantly more common in people than being overweight or obese.

There is also evidence that losing weight can improve sexual performance and help eliminate erectile dysfunction. In a study, overweight and obese men who lost an average of 33 pounds over two years reported improved erectile function. Like high blood pressure, obesity is linked to lower levels of testosterone, a key hormone for healthy erections and sexual performance. Though erectile dysfunction medications like Fildena 100, Cenforce 150 and Suhagra 100 are readily available in the market, you should only take them after consulting a doctor.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), or heartburn, causes stomach acid or intestinal secretions to damage the esophagus. Common symptoms of GERD include burning ears, “heartburn,” vomiting, coughing (especially at night), hoarseness, and belching. Almost two out of ten people experience GERD symptoms regularly. Obesity has been associated with an increased risk of GERD, inflammation of the esophagus, and, rarely, esophageal cancer. The danger of accidents and personal injury. Bone and joint problems can include:

  • Arthritis
  • Herniated disc
  • Spinal disorders
  • Back pain
  • Pseudotumor cerebri, is a condition that increases pressure on the brain and is associated with confusion or disorientation, headaches, and blurred vision.
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Kidney Disease
  • Liver Disease
