Helios Lifestyle Private Limited, the Start-up which created the men’s premium products, The Man Company recently achieved a great investment from Bollywood National Award-Winning actor Ayushmann Khurrana who has invested for the first time. This was initiated by the Company’s ambassador, Ayushmann Khurrana as a part of a strategic partnership for future actions.

The Man Company was founded in 2015 by Rohit Chawla, Dhingra, Bhisham Bhateja and Parvesh Bareja and has achieved a 30 percent market share in the beard grooming category since then. The company has also received investment twice from Kolkata-based FMCG brand Emami and with this capital the company has established nearly 1,000 brand touch-points including health & beauty stores, first-class salons, high-class pop-ups, and big retail stores.

The major use of the funding will be for branding and ramping up the presence of the brand across India. In 2015, the start-up also achieved an investment from angel investors like Microsoft India’s Managing Director, Karan Bajwa. The brand faces competition from Beardo, Happily Unmarried, Ustraa, Bombay Shaving Company, The Indian Grooming Club and also huge brands like HUL and Marico.

The company with the help of the capital plans to encourage young and empowered Indian men towards the campaign called “Bring Out The #GentlemenInYou”. They strongly desire to transform the societal position of who a man should be and offer a substitute to this definition. They want to highlight that a gentleman can possess flaws, can be susceptible, and can smoothly wear his heart on his sleeve.

The brand strongly feels that to turn into a true gentleman, one has to understand that looks, religion, caste, profession, lifestyle, and even sexuality are irrelevant. Inherent qualities that one has and the mindset of constant evolution matters the most. Right now, the company claims to have an annual run rate of nearly 140-150 Crores.

With the actor’s investment step, Hitesh Dhingra, Founder and MD of the Man Company stated that with Ayushmann’s support the company is all confident to offer Indian men world-class grooming prerequisites and empowering them to search for and feel their very finest and on the same, Ayushmann Khurrana mentioned that with time the definition of a gentleman has transformed greatly and he strongly thinks that men should be comfortable to grip their weakness and susceptibility.

The actor claims to connect with the company instantly and consider the principles of the company as progressive and greatly inclusive and he loves using the product himself.

With this investment, the actor has joined the long list of Bollywood actors who have been investing in such brands for ages. For instance, Deepika Padukone last month took part in a $3 million funding round for BluSmart and also gave funding for other start-ups like Epigamia, Greek yogurt brand and Bellatrix Aerospace, IISc-incubated Spacetech Startup.
