A patient was injured when the plaster of the roof of Betagi Upazila Health Complex in Barguna collapsed. The incident took place on Wednesday night (April 13) in the men’s ward on the second floor of the hospital. In this incident panic spread among the patients and their relatives who came for treatment. The hospital authorities have declared the building abandoned.
It is learned that the plaster of the roof of the men’s ward on the 2nd floor of Betagi Upazila Health Complex building collapsed on Thursday night (April 13). At that time some part of the plaster fell on the body of a patient named Abdus Salam (65). He was injured in the head. Hospital authorities moved the injured old man to another building for treatment. The building was later declared abandoned.

An elderly man admitted with respiratory disease was injured. We are treating him safely. The building was very old.
Betagi Upazila Nirbahi Officer Suhrid Salehin said, “I visited the hospital after receiving the news.” Considering the overall situation, we have declared the building abandoned. Patients are currently being evacuated to another building.
