Reuters has seen a letter of resignation written by Finance Minister Ali Sabri to the President of Sri Lanka.
According to NDTV, Ali Sabri wrote in the letter, “I am resigning from the post of finance minister. He also requested that it be implemented immediately.
Earlier, Sri Lanka’s finance minister was Basil Rajapaksa, the brother of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. However, Ali Sabri was appointed by the president on Monday after cabinet members resigned on Sunday night. He resigned a day after being appointed.
