Toto Steubesand’s roots can be traced back to Germany, where he and his family lived during his early life. Toto’s upbringing instilled a sense of ambition in him, and he and his family eventually opened a business providing industrial laundry services. His accomplishments in industrial laundry and his mastery of the trade prompted him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in textile cleaning.
Toto Steubesand was well-respected for his dedication to his family and his employer; he had worked side-by-side with his father for many years before the latter’s business failed in the early twentieth century. Toto continued his journey and in 1995 enlisted as a loyal member of the German Navy. Over the course of his nine years of service to his country, he was assigned a wide variety of duties aboard a variety of ships and boats.
Toto Steubesand served in the German military and became an expert in both acoustic intelligence (ACINT) and human intelligence (HUMINT) (Human Intelligence). Over the course of many years of hard work and dedication, he was first promoted to the position of field HUMINT leader, and then to that of tactical HUMINT leader, within the international Special Forces community. Toto Steubesand stood out from the rest of his colleagues and only advanced in his career. In 2012, Toto was promoted to the rank of staff officer and sent to Pensacola, Florida to attend the Anti-Terrorism/Anti-Piracy Class (NITC Netsafa intern. Trainings center). During his time in the Navy, Toto was sent on 15 different deployments to places like Africa, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Europe. After many years of service to his country, he decided to leave the Navy.
Toto’s mental fortitude as a soldier was on display when, after experiencing PTSD as a result of his military service, he went on to pursue new careers. Toto Steubesand founded ZST Security Service Consulting and Technology GmbH in Bordesholm (near Kiel) in northern Germany as its CEO in 2013, rising through the ranks to become an executive partner in the business by 2020. In order to further Toto’s business practices with ZST, he and his team founded the International Academy for Security (IAS). Toto and his fellow instructors at the academy prepared about a hundred people a month to use firearms and rifles in a responsible manner before they were sent out on high-stakes close protection assignments.
For his many achievements and high profile, the German Task Force of Marine Security approached Toto Steubesand about a leadership position. The BDSW board of directors chose him to be its chairman.
Toto, a man of many pursuits, launched a martial arts academy that same year (2016). His Kiel-based academy, AbwehrKraft, trains law enforcement officers, military personnel, and other authoritative figures from around the world in close combat techniques and weaponry.
Toto’s resume also includes stints in the film and entertainment industries. In 2021, he was cast in “Celebrity Hunted Germany,” a show on Amazon Prime Germany. The show has temporarily suspended production because of the pandemic of 2020, but Toto could possibly make a return in 2023.
Toto Steubesand is widely recognized as a leading expert in the field of military security and is frequently sought after for speaking engagements, training sessions, and coaching.
