Each year, more than 100 million bicycles are manufactured? Around the world, there are currently over 1 billion bicycles in use? Considering these statistics, it’s not surprising that cycling is one of the best and most preferred pastimes for people who want to reduce their risk of strokes and heart diseases.

Have you ever wondered how bicycles came into existence? How did the two-wheel vehicle you ride today with pedals, handlebars, and a saddle-like seat acquire these features and characteristics?

Different Types of bikes

Different types of bike are under given below:

Mountain Bike

There is something for everyone on the Haro mountain bike. It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out, a seasoned rider, or a pro, there is a bike for you. Not just for men, but also for women and children, these machines allow everyone to get outside and enjoy riding while getting the exercise and fun they need. Mountain bikes are designed for riding rough off-road trails. Flat or upright handlebars and a low gear range make them ideal for pedalling up steep trails. Shock absorbers or suspensions are standard on most haro mountain bikes.

Full Suspension Mountain Bike

Full suspension mountain bikes have both a suspension fork up front and a shock at the rear, whereas hardtail bikes have only a suspension fork. Mountain bikes are controlled, tractioned, and comfortable by the type of suspension, not to mention how enjoyable they are to ride. Hardtail mountain bikes have only front suspension while full-suspension bikes or duallys have front and rear suspension. A rigid mountain bike has no suspension. It is possible to convert mountain bikes into touring or commuting bikes, but they will not be as light or efficient as traditional touring or commuting bikes. A fat bike is a mountain bike with a wide tire.

Hybrid Bikes

Originally, hybrid bikes were designed to offer the benefits of both road bikes and mountain bikes. Featuring large padded seats and upright handlebars, these bikes are best for riding around the neighbourhood or on bike paths, commuting short distances, and performing errands. Although they can be ridden on paved roads, they are not as lightweight or efficient as road bikes. They work well on paved or unpaved bike trails, but are not suitable for rough off-road mountain bike trails. There are usually medium-width tires with semi-smooth tread, which provide a fairly smooth ride on paved surfaces, but enough grip and cushion on unpaved trails. Most hybrid bikes have front suspension for smoothing out small bumps, but some are fully rigid. Cross bikes used to also be referred to as hybrid bikes, but that term is no longer used to avoid confusion with cyclocross bikes

Electric bike

A motorised electric unicycle is a bicycle with one wheel that’s powered by electricity instead of your muscles. Unicycles are powered by motors, and there is no pedalling required. In motion, a motherboard in the unicycle measures the vehicle’s angle

Road Bikes

The purpose of a road bicycle is to ride fast on smooth pavement. The bikes have smooth, skinny tires, “drop” handlebars, and can be used for road racing. Their weight is typically lower than that of other kinds. It is possible to ride them on paved trails, but most people find them unstable on unpaved trails. Road bikes are not designed to carry heavy loads, so they are not suitable for commuting or touring.
