The car experts is a mechanic who has been on the road a long time. The car expert knows the tricks of the trade to keep one’s car running without a hitch. However, when one tends to take this job to heart and get too big for their boots, then one gets themselves into trouble.

Here are some of the tell-tale signs that someone is taking this job a bit too seriously and you can spot them easily. You can’t spot your car in a crowded market. It is because you are looking at it with a magnifying glass, like the one that a magician uses in his act.

It takes one hour to get the car you want to buy or that you can afford. For instance, when you first approach a car sales executive, he has two things on his mind, first it’s important to realise that their job is not to answer your questions but to sell the vehicle they have under their seller’s name.

They can only buy from their representative and they are doing all they can to keep you from getting a problem with this guy. Their only question is always ‘How much is this thing really worth?’.

When a sales executive says they can fix your car for a price, then they are the best mechanic in town. You should never ever let them do any work on your car.

When they are not giving a realistic cost for the repairs, they are under the assumption that you are stupid and will agree with anything they ask for. They have your money and you have their word and that is the end of that discussion.

They spend hours giving you useless information. They may speak about the latest technology on your car that they didn’t really know about before they got this job, they may speak about the history of the car to try to impress you and they may tell you how your car is in good condition compared to that BMW.

You would never get that kind of information from your car mechanic. They need to know about every single part of your car because they have been working on cars all their lives.

Every other car you come across is exactly the same as yours, and all their customers know about them. So when they ask you about other brands, your race cars is the only thing they will have.

They will never take your word for it.

They want to check your engine to see what the problem is. In this, they will check the engine and if they find something they are unhappy with, they will tell you they will fix it, no matter what. So, if you really believe the problem is minor, you should really try and convince them to change your engine oil, to see if they really fixed it or they just want to cheat you.

Just like a magician, they will throw all the pieces of the puzzle on the table to try to make you believe that they have solved all your problems. The car expert always thinks he knows the answer to every single question you have about your car. Just because they have a lot of knowledge, does not mean that they are good at selling cars, or that they know anything about them.

They don’t know anything about servicing the car. If a car dealer or a car salesman happens to tell you that he can service your car, that’s a lie. They are not mechanics and they know nothing about what you should do with your car. Even when they try to ‘servicing’ the engine, it is impossible to service an engine that isn’t operating right.

You will find that most of the time when you tell your car expert that your car needs a service, they will tell you that you can fix it yourself for no charge. Your car expert takes pride in making more money than your normal mechanic. They feel that if they don’t try their best to increase the cost of the vehicle, they will be below them. The expert is very secretive. They like to keep the customers at arm’s length so that they don’t make a mistake and they won’t hear their customers’ opinions.

They can not read a calendar and they feel that time is money.

The car expert expects you to solve every single problem they come across. They don’t like to call the service centre because they know they won’t be able to have a service within their own 2-hour window. The car expert will call his service centre and leave a message telling them he will have an issue with your car tomorrow, and will they come to his garage tomorrow. Of course the service centre will say ‘yes’, because if they don’t go today, the car expert has no business calling them tomorrow and they will not be able to give you the service you need.
