Divorce is something that many celebrities have gone through, and it has been made public. The stars themselves have expressed their reasons for doing so, while others have been compelled to do so due to public pressure.

Celebrity divorces have long been a fixture of Hollywood news, and it turns out that the rate is similar to that of non-celebrities. The entertainment business has seen more than its fair share of celebrity divorces.

Some people believe that popularity and riches may lead to a troubled marriage, but the pressures of the career could also play a role. Here’s a rundown of some recent celebrity divorces last month.

Kenan Thompson and Christina Evangeline

The month of April kicked off with a decade-long relationship between “SNL” star Kenan Thompson and Christina Evangeline ending with a divorce. As a matter of fact, the now-ex-couple has been apart for about a year and is co-parenting their two children.

The reason behind their split was that they just grew apart, yet they are still close friends. The couple tied the knot in 2011 at Atlanta’s Georgia Aquarium and have two children named Georgia Marie and Gianna Michelle. They met through mutual friends in the industry, as talent manager Danny Estrada introduced them.

Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus

The parents of music sensation Miley Cyrus are next on the list. After more than 28 years of marriage and two previous divorce applications, Tish Cyrus filed for divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus on April 6 in Tennessee, alleging irreconcilable differences.

The two have not lived together in over two years and declared in a joint statement that they are parting ways with love in their hearts rather than grief. To give more emphasis, this is not their first divorce after marrying in 1993; this is the third time they have intended to do so.

Billy Ray filed for divorce in 2010 and withdrew the case five months later. By 2013, it was now Tish’s turn to file for divorce in June of that year because things had worsened once again, but the pair tried to reconcile.

This only goes to show that even a decades-long marriage may end in divorce papers. Divorces are not always manageable, yet they occur frequently.

Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz

Another ten-year romance on the list has come to an end. Katie Maloney, star of “Vanderpump Rules,” has filed divorce papers against Tom Schwartz in Los Angeles Superior Court, just a week after announcing their breakup on their Instagram pages earlier in April.

They married in 2016, but it took them till 2019 to complete the appropriate paperwork to become legally married. Also, they haven’t had any children together.

The cause of their breakup was not disclosed in their separate social media confirmation statement. Still, the reality star noted that this ending is not received with anger or hostility and that there are no sides to pick from. They simply adore one other and value their connection.

For his part, Tom stated that despite his aching heart, he would be OK. He also expressed his support for his now ex-wife’s decision, saying that it would be far more tragic if she chose to stay with him while she was not happy.

Natasha Lyonne and Fred Armisen

While we’ve been discussing the sad causes of celebrity divorce, the next couple on the list has a strange motive for their split. After nearly a decade of dating, Natasha Lyonne and Fred Armisen have called it quits due to Natasha’s desire for a swimming pool, which Fred opposed.

We all have our issues, and it’s not always the obvious reasons that you think it’s going to be. Natasha went on to say that because of the pandemic, everyone got their laps and that she opted to buy a property in Los Angeles with a pool.

They first became connected in 2014 after being introduced by “Saturday Night Live” cast member Maya Rudolph at Netflix’s post-Emmys party at the Chateau Marmont. However, they were last spotted together at the Golden Globes in 2020.

Ashley Darby and Michael Darby

We have another reality star on the list because Ashley Darby of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” has filed for divorce after eight years of marriage from her real estate tycoon husband, Michael Darby.

They have chosen to go their own ways since they are at very different phases in their life and have distinct aspirations for their futures; the couple also expressed that they each want the other to attain real happiness and satisfaction, which they believe they cannot do together.

While on a helicopter trip above the Hudson River in 2012, Michael proposed to Ashley. The now-former couple married in 2014 after dating for two years. They separated up soon after, citing an age difference as the cause for their separation, but reconciled in 2017.

Sean Penn and Leila George

The month ended with Sean Penn and Leila George’s divorce being finalized just a little over a year after they married. In October, Leila filed a petition for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court.

They married in a small ceremony in July 2020 after dating for four years amid the height of the pandemic and confirmed it a month later during the entertainer’s appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

The reason for their divorce was never disclosed, but Sean blamed himself, claiming that he messed up the marriage and denying reports that he cheated.

Divorce is a significant word for people and celebrities alike. Celebrity marriage has been claimed to have a substantial influence on their careers. Some of the most well-known personalities in entertainment, sports, and other areas may be found on the list of celebrity divorces, just like the people stated above.

News of a celebrity divorce is frequently followed by conjecture about the reason for the divorce and why so many celebrities appear to have been “unhappily married” for such a long time. Divorces can happen to anybody, and celebrities are no exception.
