There are important things to weigh in pricing an inflatable dome. This article describes 4 considerations to guide you in finding the right inflatable dome to meet your budget.

4 CONSIDERATIONS TO HELP YOU PRICE YOUR INFLATABLE DOME:

Size:

The first consideration is size. Obviously, larger inflatable domes will cost more to produce since the raw materials will be larger in order to cover the same space that a smaller structure would. Larger structures typically cost more to build since they are made from larger materials, which require more labor.  There are 3 variables that affect size: diameter (the length of the tube), height (the distance between the top of the tube and ground level) and depth (the distance between the tube and the inside of the structure). It is important to know exactly how big of a dome you want and also how big of a dome you can fit. You will want to take all the appropriate measurements to ensure that you don’t get more than your space can handle. Keep in mind that there needs to be an easy entrance and exit and allow for extra space to accommodate the air pumps.

Indoor vs Outdoor Use:

The second consideration is indoor/outdoor use. There are slightly different costs associated with the different equipment used. If you plan to use your inflatable dome outdoors, then the gas-inflated structure is a better option but the cost of gas can be significant if running your dome for long periods of time. If you would like to use your dome indoors only, then an electric air pump may be the best choice for you. Please note that there are limits as to what kinds of materials can be used with each type of inflating system.

Materials and Maintenance:

The third consideration is material and maintenance . Larger domes that are used under adverse weather conditions will cost significantly more due to higher quality materials. Also, typically thicker material is used on the tubes of large domes for added strength so the cost of maintenance increases with the quality of the materials.

Most domes use a high quality 3 ply UV rated vinyl material that will give you years of trouble free usage but the more it’s used the more maintenance it will require. There are additional costs associated with heavy duty construction materials that are used to produce inflatable domes. Unexpected costs could include any additional materials required for anchoring and powering the dome and the cost for any future repairs that are needed. Also, an inflatable dome that is meant for constant use will need to be replaced sooner than other domes. You would not want to use your inflatable dome more than is appropriate for the materials used. For this reason it’s important to know how often you will be using your structure and for what kinds of activities.

Transportation and Labor Costs

The fourth consideration is transportation and labor costs. Larger domes will cost significantly more than smaller ones to transport and take more time to setup/breakdown. If you decide to go through a rental company you may find that there is a deposit required and maybe additional labor costs for a technician if that company requires someone from their team on stand-by.

Conclusion

The more factors you have in play, the more factors need to be considered in your final overall price. The 4 considerations that we outlined are size, indoor/outdoor use, material and maintenance and transportation and labor costs. Although there are a number of ways to save money on an inflatable dome, it is usually best to find a reputable company that will work with you to fit your needs.
