An AHRC is an attitude and gearing reference system and it uses an inertial measurement unit that consists of microelectromechanical networks. This particular measurement can be used to get an estimate of the object’s attitude.  When dealing with AHRC you need to know that not all navigation is the same and your work is to sort them out and know what you want and what you need to be done in a certain framework.

Moreover, you need to make sure you know the objective and significance of the navigation within your site. for you to sort everything out appropriately. You need to start thinking like a visitor and not like a designer. Take some time to know how visitors perceive the navigation mechanism you want to employ before you kick it off.

 There are so many types of navigation you could employ and they are ;

  1. Structural navigation

Just as the name suggests, structural navigation normally follows the structure of websites. It gives individuals a chance to move up and down the various points of a site’s hierarchy. Structural navigation is also divided into main navigation and local navigation.

  • Main navigation

The main navigation is also known as global navigation or main nav. The main navigation normally represents the top-level pages of a site’s structure or the pages just below the home page. When using the main navigation changes are very minimal and they vary from page to page. The main navigation normally supports various user tasks and modes of information seeking.

  • Local navigation

Local navigation is also known as sub-navigation and it is normally used to access lower levels in a structure, below the main navigation pages. What they mean by local is that it’s within a given category. Local navigation normally works in conjunction with a global navigation system and it is an extension of the main navigation. Transitions from page to page are normally smooth and consistent. Local navigation issues you a great deal of context like which topics belong together, related content and so forth.

Types of navigation techniques

  1. Dead reckoning

Dead reckoning is the estimation of current positions based on a preceding position. It majors on things like speed, time and direction of travel. When it is used in sailing it never takes into account wind speeds or ocean currents. But the only reference point in dead reckoning is the preceding position and it can be hard to notice when mistakes are made while travelling.

  1. Celestial navigation

Celestial navigation is great for sailors as this particular technique uses stars, moon, sun and horizon to calculate position. It’s great for open oceans where landmarks are not available.

Conclusion

Navigation is quite difficult and you need to make sure you use the right navigation techniques so that you can get to your destination in the specified time.  You could also use the techniques listed above so that you would be able to be on the right track. As a navigator make sure you look into this article for assistance.
