Family members of BNP leader Ilyas Ali, who has been missing for a decade, have not been able to make transactions in his bank account.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters after meeting his family members at Ilias Ali’s residence in the capital’s Banani on Saturday afternoon.
The BNP secretary general said, “I was talking to Ilyas Ali’s wife (Tahsina Rushdie) a while ago. He said they could not manage his (Ilyas Ali’s) bank account. Can’t pay his car tax. He had to face many problems regarding the admission of his daughter. Many were not admitting college girls. These issues have caused a great deal of pain to his family. “
On the night of April 17, 2012, Ilias Ali and his driver Ansar Ali were picked up by unknown persons from Banani Road. Police recovered the abandoned car. However, no trace of Ilyas Ali or his driver has been found yet.
Mirza Fakhrul has alleged that the government has not made any effort to find Elias Ali. He said it was very clear that it was (disappeared) by this government, that is why they did not take the initiative. Elias Ali’s family members are currently living in dire straits after his disappearance.
Not only the family of Ilyas Ali, but also the families of the missing persons are going through such hardships, said BNP Secretary General Fakhrul.
Recently, two people were killed in an alleged gunfight with the RAB. Raising the issue, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “This happened four months after the US embargo. The reason for this is that what I think is the character of the RAB that they have created, that character is the solution to the problem. They are working and will continue to do so in violation of all illegal human rights. “
The BNP secretary general alleged that the government was using these forces to stay in power. He said that after using them in this way, how to take action against them, how to punish them or bring them under the law – they are not able to do it. Since the government is in power by kidnapping, murdering and torturing them, it is not able to take any action against them. They (the government) have become hostages to the law enforcement agencies.
Bangladesh has sought India’s cooperation in lifting US sanctions on seven former and current military personnel. Replying to a question on the issue, Mirza Fakhrul Islam said the government and the Awami League were so bankrupt that they wanted to ask India to resolve the national issue. This government does not have the face that they will stand with the people with it.
