Excessive pressure of Dhaka-bound passengers and traffic on the Daulatdia-Paturia ferry route created an 8km long traffic jam at the Daulatdia ferry ghat on Saturday (May 7) morning.

Passengers waiting at Daulatdia ferry ghat since Friday night have yet to get ferry.
About 2,000 vehicles, including passenger buses, goods-laden trucks, private cars, microbuses and motorcycles, are waiting for ferries at the ghat.
According to manager of Daulatdia BIWTC office, as many as 21 ferries are running on this route.
