Professional photography for live events is stressful, especially when the event is a wedding. Live events are unpredictable, even when they run to plan. And the photographer has to capture everything as it happens, with no chance of a second take.

Planning, knowing what you need to get, knowing what event is coming up, helps us produce better wedding photograph.

These days most of us carry around a smartphone with a decent digital camera. if we are familiar with how this camera works, we have the potential to take some respectable wedding photos.

  • Capture emotions in the photo. This means the laugh at a spontaneous event, the faces that are glad to be there, and good emotion.
  • Grab the moments as they happen. A great photo opportunity can happen at any time.
  • Tell a narrative with the photos. Can we put the photo in order and see the event of the day unfold.
  • Be inconspicuous. The wedding photography is not really part of the event. Like the camera in a film, we see what the camera sees, but not see the camera itself. Be invisible to the wedding guests.
  • Take unusual Wedding Photography. Take close shots, shots at the bottom of a stairway, on top of a bridge, a silhouette, the bride about to pour her drink on the groom’s head!
  • Capture the happy couple leaving the venue, both the ceremony and reception.
  • Use a continual shooting mode on the camera. This produces a series of sequential shots, and you simply choose the best one or two.
  • Have plenty of digital memory. This is inexpensive and reusable, so stock up.
