While brushed-out waves might make it look like you just stepped off the beach without even running a brush through your hair, there is a lot of intentionalities that goes into creating loose waves. But don’t worry, it’s a lot easier than it sounds as long as you follow the right steps to minimize over-definition and maximize hold on the object. First, prepare the hair by spraying it with hairspray.

Third, Starting away from your face, curl small sections of your hair.
Curling a few small sections away from your face is a technique that Marjan recommends. A more defined curl can be achieved by working with smaller sections, and the heat will be distributed more evenly. Beginning with the bottom section of your hair and working your way up to the top section, divide your hair into two or three sections, depending on the density of your hair, and begin. Turn your hair into a twist, and then wrap the twisted hair around the iron. This will help you achieve a more textured and beachy look. The trick to preventing clamp marks from the iron is to keep your loose wave human hair moving while you style it.
Fourth, Spray Your Waves With Hairspray While They Are Still Cool
Do not touch or tug on your curls when they come off the iron, no matter how tempting it may be to do so, even if they appear to be a little tight (we’ll take care of that during the next step). Be patient and wait for your waves to reach room temperature before you move on to the next step of the process, which is to get your hair curled completely and then let it cool completely. To maintain the shape of your curls while you wait for them to cool, you can spritz your hair with hairspray to keep them in place. This is especially helpful if you have straight hair, which has a tendency to lose its curls.
Fifth is to brush through.
After your hair has been allowed to completely cool and you have applied a thin, even layer of hairspray, you can proceed to brush through your curls in order to achieve the effect of loose waves. Sixth, Apply Shine Spray to Complete the Look
