When it’s windy and rainy outside, there is no better way to spend the day other than getting all cosy, turning on the TV, ordering some food and relaxing. Thanks to apps such as Netflix we can now watch whatever we like, whenever we like. The days of spending all our precious time watching boring adverts and not being able to go back and rewatch something you missed are over! Netflix is really one of the greatest things technology can offer us. As of April 2022, Netflix has over 17,000 titles to choose from! Yes, you heard right, 17,000! With a simple Netflix subscription then we have no doubts that you will ever struggle to find something to watch ever again. If you use normal TV often, then you’ll know that there is purely nothing worse than scrolling and coming to the realisation that nothing good is on TV, only to find yourself watching the countdown for the one-millionth time that week. Instead, you can have a look for something that actually interests you! Something you can become immersed in and enjoy watching! Speaking of being immersed in a TV show, there simply isn’t a better way to achieve this feeling than having a large TV mounted to your wall. Anyways, let’s talk about some of the best Netflix movies to give a shot, we hope our shortlist can give you some ideas.

Don’t Look Up

Don’t Look Up is a movie that is really different, it’s hard to describe to someone who hasn’t watched it before. Basically, two astronomers, Kate (Jennifer Lawrence) and Randall (Leonardo DiCaprio) make a ground-breaking, yet terrifying discovery. It becomes apparent that a comet is approaching Planet Earth and will soon destroy everything, now while this might sound pretty dark there is also a level of humour in the film. What can you be expecting in a film with Jonah Hill involved? Both journalists go on a massive media tour and try their best to warn everyone of what will happen if something isn’t done to attempt to stop the comet from colliding. Things start to get weird when it becomes apparent that no one really cares, the public convinces themselves that it’s all a hoax and there’s nothing to worry about.  Kate and Randall desperately attempt to convince the public to make a stand and acknowledge what’s happening, but no one does. As you can imagine there is a lot more to the movie than just this, we would highly recommend you give it a try. It’s without a doubt one of the best Netflix movies to give a shot.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

El Camino is a movie that starts off where Breaking Bad ended, if you are a fan of the series and this is something that you haven’t seen yet then you must have been living under a rock! This movie is one of the best Netflix movies to give a shot if you’ve seen Breaking Bad before. Fans were left wondering for years what Jesse Pinkman got up to after he escaped the Heisenberg’s massacre in the last episode of breaking bad, and this movie shows you exactly that. You can tell that the characters in the movie look a little older than they did in the show, but if this is something you can look by then you are in for an awesome ride. After all Jessie has been through, there really isn’t much he can’t cope with. This movie is the perfect closure that breaking bad fans need so that they can remember their favourite series without wondering what happened next. What we love about this movie is that it doesn’t change anything about the original breaking bad series, it simply builds on an already brilliant story with a fantastic character.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man Homecoming is probably the most light-hearted Spider-Man film out there, in fact it may even be one of the most light-hearted MCU films! The story takes place after Captain America: Civil War, where Peter Parker has just met Tony Stark and is getting used to life as a superhero. Being so young, Peter makes a lot of mistakes, he tries his hardest to impress Tony but ends up making a lot of mistakes along the way. Peter struggles with his social life too and begins to struggle to balance his life as a superhero and his life as a student. This movie is more or less setting up every other great spiderman movie out there, it’s all about Peter Parker learning the ropes. Despite this, he definitely faces some real threats in this movie. Peter sets out to stop the vulture, a criminal who is selling alien weapons to criminals, pulled straight from the rubble after the events of Avengers – Age of Ultron. This is Spider-Man’s first big test, and it’s one of the best Netflix movies to give a shot if you are looking to get into Marvel Movies.
