It cruises the river in the morning and late afternoon, giving you a unique perspective of Chobe National Park. The top deck of the Pangolin Voyager has a partially shaded area where you can sit and enjoy the views. You can also take tender boats to nearby villages where the houseboat staff live. This location offers both recreational activities and quiet pursuits. Whether you’re an early bird eager to hear the symphony of chirping birds or a night owl hoping to witness the graceful movements of nocturnal creatures, these tender boats have you covered. Their early morning and late afternoon departures coincide with the peak activity times for many animals, making them the perfect way to sneak a peek into the hidden world of wildlife. Binga Houseboat:
Nestled on Lake Kariba’s southeastern shore, Binga lures anglers, boaters, and culture buffs to its Zimbabwean charm. Many people from all over the country come to enjoy its beauty. Despite its abundance of wildlife, tourism, and beautiful environment, Binga is a much-underrated place. To get there by road, you need to take a turn off the main road from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls near Dete/Hwange. Binga also has a tarred airstrip that can be accessed by small aircraft.
Mermaid Houseboat:
The Mermaid Houseboat has six beautiful bedrooms that can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people and can even accommodate up to 18 people if needed. To take care of your every need, the houseboat has a staff of 4 people, which includes a chef, a captain, and 2 deck hands who are always active in keeping the houseboat safe and comfortable in every way. The Mermaid Houseboat also has entertainment equipment such as music players, CD players, and some gym equipment which are helpful in keeping you busy and entertained.
Abangane Houseboat:
The Abangane houseboat is a reasonably priced houseboat that can be found on Lake Kariba on the western shores of Binga. It does not have the frills and spills of luxury boats, but it cruises smoothly and will take you back to shore after a long journey. It has the basic amenities that you need for a few days of touring the lake on a boat, and you don’t have to worry about anything.
The Abangane houseboat has two good-sized cabins with bunk beds available for those who want to have their own privacy. There is also a very spacious area for your clothes where you can easily store a lot of your clothes. There are also very spacious shower rooms and bathrooms with some extra space. Since everyone loves clean and tidy bathrooms, these will be the best for them. Most people prefer to sleep on the upper deck as it offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding area. Mattresses and mosquito nets are provided for guests. In case of rain or strong winds, the canvas blinds on the sides can be lowered to protect the interior from the rain.
Catalina Houseboat:
The Catalina houseboat is a great boat for vacationing on Lake Kariba. The swimming pool and the large open space on the boat give you a different feel and make your stay comfortable and relaxing. A single, cozy cabin ideal for couples or solo travelers, and four expansive staterooms perfectly suited for families or small groups, each offering ample sleeping arrangements with two double beds per room.
These are more than enough to provide complete comfort to the guests. Along with that, these rooms are fully air-conditioned and have all sorts of amenities. The Catalina houseboat also has tender boats which are necessary for lake trips and for fishing and game viewing there. They are also used for beach barbecues and sunset cruises.

The Lady Jacqueline houseboat is a steel-hulled houseboat that is located on the shores of Lake Kariba in the Bumi Hills area, near the town of Binga. It is a well-appointed and sturdy boat that can accommodate groups of 4 to 10 people. However, if your group is larger, the Catalina, Meremaid, or Zambezi houseboat safaris may be a better choice for you.
OB Joyful Houseboat:
This is a great houseboat for a budget-friendly stay. It is an independent haven that requires self-catering, but the rewards are worth it. Enjoy the flexibility of cooking at your own pace and savoring meals in your own space. But if you want to order in, that is also an option.
This is a basic houseboat with 2 air-conditioned and en suite cabins on the lower deck and 1 air-conditioned and en suite cabin on the upper deck. Each room boasts its own private oasis, complete with a dedicated basin area, a separate toilet, and a refreshing shower room. The air conditioners in this houseboat only work when the generator is on and, according to the rules of the lake, they turn off at 10 pm.
Ponty Houseboat:
The Ponty Houseboat is a small 90-foot pontoon boat that has been moored at a marina in Binga since 2018. It is powered by two 2.5-liter engines and has a generator that provides electricity for the guests and runs four freezers when the boat is traveling on the river.
The houseboat has two decks. The lower deck has sleeping accommodations for 14 people, but it is more comfortable for 12 guests, which allows the staff and guests to have more space. Since some guests prefer to sleep on the upper deck of the houseboat, this leaves more space available on the lower deck.
