EPFO, short form for Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, is one of the World’s largest Social Security Organisations in terms of clientele and the volume of financial transactions undertaken. It is a statuary body that assists the Central Board in administering compulsory contributory Provident Fund Scheme, Pension Scheme, and Insurance Scheme for the workforce engaged in the organized sector in India.
One of their services is to provide clients with the benefit of checking their PF passbook via their website. But lately, people have been facing some issues in checking their PF e-passbook on the website, and many have raised concerns and queries regarding the situation. Officials revealed that the issue was due to some technical problem with the website. Even after the problems seem to be rectified, people are still at a loss for how to check their PF e-passbook.
While the EPFO website can cause some trouble, people can always come to the UMANG app to check their PF e-passbook. The users can access their PF e-passbook by doing some simple steps –
- In the UMANG app search, EPFO,
- Click on the passbook option,
- There, users have to enter their UAN number, (UAN is a Universal Account Number allotted by EPFO)
- After entering the UAN, the user will receive an OTP which they have to enter in the pop-up box, and
- After entering the OTP, users will be eligible to download their PF e-passbook.
The EPFO Twitter page has also uploaded a beautiful image of these simple steps to access the PF e-passbook through the UMANG app.
Another way to get hold of the PF e-passbook is via the SMS system. The subscribed member has to send an SMS to the number 7738299899 to access the most recent information and PF balance. For this, users must have their UAN registered with the EPFO and seeded with a bank account, Aadhaar card number, and PAN. The users have to send a message – EPFOHO UAN ENG to the above-mentioned number from their registered number to get information in English.
Users who do not wish to send a text message can also access their PF information by giving a missed call on the number 9966044425 from their registered mobile number. Users have to make sure that their bank account information, Aadhaar, and PAN are seeded into UAN.
Users who are constantly facing issues on the EPFO website can easily access their PF information with these simple procedures instead of waiting meaninglessly on the website.
