What is an E-Shisha?
In a conventional hookah, unique hookah tobacco is heated on glowing coal, converted into smoke by hot water vapor, and inhaled through a long hose. The typical “bubbling,” the pleasant sweet smell, the strong steam development – all this is part of the relaxed atmosphere of a shisha evening with friends for many people. But in the meantime, shisha smoking has declined since the realization spread that tobacco smoking is harmful to health. As a result, so-called e-shishas have been developed and launched on the market in recent years. In principle, this special variant of the elfbar e zigarette provides the strong vapor development typical of shisha. Like any other e-cigarette, a liquid is vaporized by electrically generated heat. Compared to conventional shisha, e-shisha is less harmful to health and, above all, much handier, so it is also perfect for enjoyment on the go.
How does an E-Shisha work?
Except for the steam and taste experience, the E-Shisha has only a few similarities with the conventional water pipe. The two variants are not only visually very different from each other. The E-Shisha does not need charcoal, hookah tobacco, and water. Rather, the e-shisha is similar to the e-cigarette – both consist of a battery, a vaporizer, a container for the liquid, and a mouthpiece. Moreover, e-shisha and e-cigarettes work on the same principle: a flavored liquid is heated by electrical energy and converted into vapor. To activate the e-shisha, you just have to pull the mouthpiece.
What is the difference between e-shisha and e-cigarettes?
The e-shisha is a variant of the e-cigarette. However, there are still some differences between an e-shisha and an e-cigarette, for example, in terms of design, durability, or nicotine content.
Appearance & Design
E-shisha and e-cigarettes differ from each other primarily in terms of design. While e-cigarettes usually look restrained and discreet, e-shishas are more colorful and have a more eye-catching design. In addition, e-cigarettes come in many shapes – from elongated and narrow to small and compact to eye-catching utility pieces. On the other hand, E-shishas are usually offered in the typical cic-a-like format, that is, in an elongated shape reminiscent of a conventional cigarette. Another difference is the special mouthpiece of the e-shisha, which looks like a conventional shisha.
How it works
E-shisha and e-cigarettes work on the same principle: a battery-powered heating element ensures that the liquid is heated. This process produces vapor, which can then be inhaled through the mouthpiece. The only difference between an e-cigarette and an e-shisha is that the e-shisha is already activated by pulling on the mouthpiece. The pressing of a fire button, known from the e-cigarette, is omitted. In addition, the vapor development of the E-Shisha is higher than with an e-cigarette – about the same as a conventional Shisha differs from a tobacco cigarette. Once you have finished vaporizing, the e-shisha switches itself off.
Nicotine content
In principle, e-cigarettes of any kind can always be vaporized without nicotine. Liquids are available in countless variants and in different nicotine strengths, but also entirely without nicotine. Therefore, e-shishas can also be used without inhaling the smallest amount of nicotine. Usually, liquids for e-shishas do not contain nicotine anyway, as e-shisha vaping is less about satisfying nicotine addiction and more about a cozy get-together and enjoyable vaping in a social gathering. For this reason, almost all e-shisha liquids are nicotine-free.
Lifespan
One point in which e-shishas differ significantly from other e-cigarettes is their lifespan. Many e-shishas are unfortunately designed as disposable products and are thrown away after a certain period of use. Of course, the e-shisha is only in use for one evening. However, the device must be disposed of after several rounds of vapor and a few hundred puffs. In the meantime, however, there are also rechargeable e-shishas on the market, which you can recharge and refill with liquid like any other e-cigarette. In addition, you can buy special e-attachments and screw them onto a standard shisha to enjoy sustainable vaporizing for a long time.
