German company VNG agreed to the Russian gas payment scheme. The German gas company VNG intends to transfer euros to Gazprom bank for further conversion into rubles and payment for gas, Reuters reported .
“We will pay the invoice amount, which will continue to be denominated in euros, to Gazprom bank accounts. In Accordance with the planned procedure in order to guarantee timely payment to the supplier on our part,” the company said. VNG expressed the hope that there will be no difficulties with the conversion of euros into rubles.
“At least the opening of the account went without problems,” they added.
At the same time, the agency notes, VNG did not comment on the question of whether it opened two accounts with Gazprom bank – in rubles and in euros. The company stressed that they are taking all necessary measures to ensure gas supplies. And the economic stability of Germany in accordance with the sanctions legislation.
