As the world is aiming to become more digital and data-driven, the demand for professionals in artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly increased. A report by the World Economic Forum (WEF) released in April 2023 based on surveys of over 800 companies states that 14 million jobs worldwide are expected to disappear in the next five years due to the adoption of new technologies.
It is a strong prediction that employers are planning to create 69 million new jobs by 2027, and at the same time, there is a plan to eliminate 83 million positions, leading to a net loss of 14 million jobs.
Data analysts, experts in machine learning, and cybersecurity professionals are expected to see a 30% increase in employment by 2027. Though AI could swiftly supplant humans, there might be a loss of 26 million administrative jobs as a result. Executive secretaries and data entry clerks would be most impacted by this.
Nasscom reports that India has the second-largest pool of highly skilled AI, machine learning, and big data talent. However, the report also suggests that the talent surge in AI will worsen, and currently, India is facing a severe shortage of AI talent.
The competencies needed by employees are evolving as businesses adopt new technology. The “skill to effectively employ AI technologies” is now valued more than computer programming, according to WEF research.

Machine Learning
It is important to create algorithms and systems that allow computers to learn from data. It is essential in the field of AI. People with these skills are heavily targeted. We use machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and trends in data and make predictions based on that data.
Deep Learning:
A part of machine learning, deep learning allows the creation of neural networks to help solve complex problems. The use of this technology can be seen in image and speech recognition, natural language processing, and robotics.

Having a solid understanding of data management and storage is important if AI is your field of work. Engineers must have the required expertise in databases, data warehousing, and data processing to make and use these AI solutions in their work line.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Problem-solving skills are required in almost every field, and it is very important. It is also crucial in AI engineering. Analyzing problems, identifying key issues, and coming up with effective solutions must be a necessity for AI engineers.
