Individuals can apply for a maximum of two e-visas in a calendar year.

  • All applicants regardless of age must have a separate passport.
  • An e-business visa cannot be used and is not valid/restricted or valid for visiting cantonment areas.

  • Applicants with international travel documents or diplomatic passports will not be able to apply for an e-business visa for India.

If you have to stay in India for more than 180 days, you may need to apply for a consular visa. E-visa cannot be extended to India.

An e-business visa holder must come through 28 designated airports or 5 designated seaports. E-business visa holders can leave the country at any of the authorized Immigration Check Post ( in India. If you have to arrive in India by land or at a port of entry that you do not have at the designated e-visa port, you will need to get a visa at the embassy or consulate.
