You can transfer emails from one gmail account to another by enabling POP on the old account and retrieving them on the new. We’ve divided the process of how to transfer emails between gmail accounts into manageable steps.
Save your old account info
First step for gmail transfer emails to another account , we’ll prepare your previous account for migration. POP settings do this.
Gmail POP configuration:
- Access your previous Gmail via browser.
- Go to gear.
- Look around.
- Click POP/IMAP and Forwarding.
- Enable POP download for all mail.
- The second portion of the same section is “POP access.”
- Choose what happens to imported old Gmail emails from the drop-down menu. You decide if a copy’s status changes.
- When finished, click Save.
- Close old Gmail account.
Retrieve emails in new account
Now you must tell your new Gmail account to import your old emails.
How to import Email to Gmail:
- Sign into Gmail.
- Gear up.
- Select View settings.
- Click Accounts.
- Check mail from other accounts.
- Select Create email.
- Then click Next.
- Next, select Import emails from another account (POP3)
- Verify the old Gmail username and password.
- Choose pop.gmail.com under POP Server.
- Choose 995.
- Uncheck Leave messages on the server.
- Check When retrieving mail, utilise SSL.
- Add account.
- Exactly Would you like to use _____@gmail.com? You decide. We recommend doing this in case you want to reply to earlier emails with the previous Gmail account.
