Monster – The Jeffrey Dahmer Story
This show is a horror series made up of ten parts based on real events that actually happened around 30 years ago. Jeffery Dahmer was an infamous serial killer who gained worldwide attention after it came to light that he had murdered 17 people over the span of ten years. The show does a really good job of explaining Jeffery Dahmer’s upbringing and the motives behind his horrible antics. It’s worth mentioning that you definitely should not watch this show if you have a weak stomach, it can be very violent at times. If this isn’t something that bothers you then this show is one of the most interesting Netflix shows to watch, you can really tell that actor Evan Peters had done his homework into the behaviour and characteristics of Jeffery Dahmer, he impressed audiences highly with his performance. Many people feel as though it was morally wrong to recreate Dahmer’s story and publicise such a horrible person, nonetheless, it’s a brilliant show that keeps you entertained throughout.
Explained
It would be silly to make a list of the most interesting Netflix shows to watch and not mention “explained”. Each episode discusses a different topic and educates the viewer on it. For example, they did an episode on eSports where they talked about the rise of competitive video gaming and why it’s becoming so popular. Each episode has a different narrator but follows the same kind of formula. There are a total of 44 episodes all going into great detail on very interesting topics with short episodes that last up to 20 minutes. Not only is Explained very enjoyable to watch, but it’s guaranteed that you’re going to learn a thing or two every episode!
Squid Game
We have no doubt that you’ve heard of the Squid Game before. When it was released, the reason people were so interested is because viewers had never seen anything quite like it before. Squid Game was made in South Korea, yet it became popular worldwide because of how good it was. Squid Game is about a bunch of people in debt who enter themselves into a competition to win a large amount of money. To win the money, each contestant must progress through levels of children’s games, with deadly consequences. The show is all set from the perspective of one player, who is desperate to win the game to escape poverty. Although this show may be in a different language, you can choose to watch it with subtitles or a dubbed English version, either way, much like Money Heist, it doesn’t get in the way of how great the show is.
Rick and Morty
If you are looking for something a little more light-hearted, then Rick and Morty is without a doubt one of the most interesting Netflix shows to watch. This whacky sci-fi cartoon is all about a scientist named Rick and his grandson Morty going on adventures throughout the universe and getting themselves into all sorts of crazy situations. What people love about the show is the bizarre yet clever concepts that the writers come up with in each episode. Some concepts are so crazy that it’s hard to believe how well the show does them. There’s also a lot of comedy involved in the show so it’s a good show to turn on if you are looking for a good laugh. Don’t let the fact that Rick and Morty is a cartoon shy you away from watching it, it’s definitely not made for kids! Also, the fact that it’s made as a cartoon gives the writers creative freedom to include anything they want in the show, which they certainly use to their advantage!
