iThrive started as my brainchild when I (Mugdha Pradhan) learned how to use the power of Functional Medicine and Nutrition to heal and reverse my chronic illness holistically. I suffered from an autoimmune thyroid condition called Hashimoto’s; I had depression, constipation, obesity, and a host of other health issues that had only gotten worse throughout my life until one day when I reached rock bottom and decided that things needed to change drastically.

I (Mugdha Pradhan) was settled abroad in a loveless marriage, financially in shambles, and was experiencing the worst health of my life. I decided to take the warrior’s path on everything: I left my 14-year marriage in 2017, returned to India, and decided to radically improve my health. I had been to multiple doctors, but despite spending 1.5 Lakh INR on “treatment,” I had zero results. The most ironic part was that I had a Master’s degree in Nutrition and did not realize how my dysfunctional relationship with food was worsening my health.

That was when I discovered Functional Medicine. I read up and taught myself the nuances of this new field, combined it with my knowledge of nutrition, and figured out how to use blood reports to understand my health profile. I did my own bloodwork, interpreted my results, and used the power of Functional Nutrition to reverse my autoimmune condition and depression.

People would ask me how I pulled it off, and I’d explain the process to them. I helped a few people as one-offs until I received a suggestion to start a healthcare platform. Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition had the answers that conventional healthcare systems did not, and I knew I could help others like me who had been let down by society at every stage. That was when I realized my mission: to heal and create lifestyle-disease-free communities across the world every single day.

In 2019, I set up iThrive. I am the sole founder of this wellness ecosystem, and I alone waded through the mountains of paperwork and all the tribulations that come with being a woman in business. After getting started, iThrive was a small team comprised of myself and the now COO, but despite our small numbers, our clientele and team continued to grow quickly. From just me at the beginning to 56 employees currently, iThrive has provided 6000+ consults and helped people reverse 174+ different chronic conditions. Clients testify that they had never received such tangible improvements until they joined the loving community at iThrive. These numbers are possible thanks to the dedication of my team, who are passionate about healing and helping our clients achieve their health goals. Many of our clients and nutritionists continue to foster a friendly bond long after the end of their program.

Besides the nutrition team, we have 2 more verticals – the iThrive Academy, to teach curious and eager minds the knowledge of Functional Nutrition; and iThrive Essentials, to provide clean, strong, and effective dietary supplements for those who want to up their health game. I swell with pride to think about the alumni, team members, and clients who have found a place to belong in iThrive’s communities, bringing me and my team one step closer to reaching our vision every day.

We’ve come a long way since 2019 and plan to continue making huge strides in holistic healthcare. Big plans are in store for the next few years as we look into offering our disease-reversal services to millions of people abroad in a plethora of countries. We see iThrive Academy becoming a full-fledged university, with courses ranging from certifications to diplomas and even PGs. We will set up clinical trials for our R&D team to conduct India-specific research and make unique supplement formulations based on their work. iThrive Essentials will grow from our current range of 8 essential supplements to 100, created in our very own manufacturing plant that we hope to set up in the future. With autonomy over our accessories, we will be able to utilize India-specific formulations and create the very best and most bioactive supplements one can find on the market.

In our first year of business (2019), iThrive generated $20K USD in revenue. In 2022, that number grew to $432K USD. It has been a fantastic journey with unprecedented growth, and we will continue to go strong. Our expected revenue based on the historical growth rate is $14 Million USD in FY2026-27. iThrive has proven that no matter how ambitious the goal is, with passionate dedication toward a genuine cause, no goal is too big. We raised $100K USD in the first seed round 2019 and $350K USD in 2021. These numbers will only grow as we continue to innovate in a budding field that provides tangible results to clients who are in need of a health rescue.
