Based on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concept, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) was established as a joint venture between The Tata Power Company (51 per cent) and the Odisha government (49 per cent). After the competitive bidding process was successfully concluded, TPSODL—which had previously been served by Southco Utility—was granted the licence to distribute electricity in the southern region of Odisha, which includes the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangapur, and Malkanagiri.
